Merrill Fire Station
Funktion Design Studio worked with the City of Merrill to design and build a new state-of-the-art 21,750 square-foot central fire station, consolidating two aging facilities. The new fire station was designed to house three shifts of Merrill’s full time firefighters, fire apparatus, ambulances, and support units. Operations support areas, administrative offices, training space, and living quarters are also located in the building. The design of the new station incorporates an innovative exterior wall and roof system to provide energy savings over the life of the building.
